I really like that the image has a lot of contrast. I can imagine that the flag has been standing there for a long time, it works as a strong symbol. The composition that two of the flag pole is dividing the frame really has a huge impact, and I think is matching with the concept. The photo has a short depth, and also blurry wet marks really emulates the wet plate collodion:)
The use of cracks in this image were executed very effectively. It is pretty convincing that the image was cracked and some areas have been removed. The smudges throughout the image also make it appear as though it went through a wet plate collodion process. The point of view of this shot makes the composition appear very interesting and keeps the viewer engaged. It almost feels as though you are in the moment, peering up at the two flags. In addition, the inclusion of the handwritten date solidifies the appearance of the wet plate collodion. As far as concept goes, I assume that this is a political statement due to the main focal point being flags. I may not know the exact standpoint of the artist on the political statement but this does make me wonder if the tone is supposed to be melancholic or patriotic.
Your image has a nice point of view, I think it might have been even more interesting if you got right under the flag to see how that angle might have turned out. To me the glass breaks feel fake maybe trying more variations of harsh lines or taking away one of the large chunks of missing glass and replacing it with a smaller break. Your image has nice contrast and the trees kind of frame the image and helps guide your eye to the flag which looks good. Good job for trying to incorporate the glass breaks.
