Kelli Crockett Night Prowler
For my Night Prowler project, I wanted to create a nighttime landscape that encompasses an intriguing foreground, stars, and the moon. I had trouble trying to take this image at first because of how difficult it was to get each element in focus and properly exposed. This is why I decided to separate the project into three main images that I would edit together. I took the image of the stars on a clear night, directed away from the light of the moon for the best results. I took the picture of the moon separately, then the house. I edited these all together with a combination of gradient layers, adjustment layers, and hand-drawn layers to create a cohesive image. I am pretty happy with how this turned out overall, though I wish I had been able to get a clearer image of the moon with my camera. I also think I could have used another image of stars with a threshold adjustment to add some more bright stars into the sky background, but I'm not sure if this would have been too distracting or not.
