I think a stronger focal point could have been established if there was a figure, or item, on the bench. It would made the photograph have a more obvious purpose.
The distress around the edges of the photo are very believable and make the photo feel like a scan of an older print. The glass crack does not make sense as instead of the crack having the shiny-ness of actual cracked glass, it would simply have black lines where the crack was on the glass negative.
I love this simple composition. The antiquness of the bench fits the old feel of the process and the snow on top of it is just a beautiful touch. I think that your distress marks are well worked and incorporated. The only thing I would critique is the background color. Unless it's a matted image the edges of a wet plate collodian are black.
Love this! I appreciate how realistic the cracked glass looks and the simplicity of the bench covered in snow is refreshing. I would maybe try to include more black in the outskirts/frame of the image however, to help balance with the pure white of the snow in the image.
I love how you did the mirror effect making it have a glossy sheen to the photo, I would love to have seen some of the image smeared a bit on the edges to grunge it up a bit, and adjust the black and white tones so they are a bit darker. good job :)
I love how settle this image is, its clean. I would try to distress the edges a tiny bit more and try to give the glass a bit more shadow? overall you did a good job!

ReplyDeleteI love the composition and the mirror effect, I wish I can see more distressed edges.
