Night Prowler-Yount

  1. I like how the bokeh lights frame your subject. Playing with moving lights behind her, teamed with a longer exposure, could have created an even more ethereal effect.

  2. The changing of the color balance of the photo to be a cooler blue and purple range helps to sell the cold feeling of night. The lights appear as if the exposure was relatively short, below a second even. Trying with much longer exposures of the light sources could have given much cooler effects.

  3. I love the color tones in this photograph, you have a great understanding of composition especially with the lights in the background, the colors could be amped up just a bit to give it a nice effect.

  4. This image gives me the chills with such rich blue and pink tones. Feels as if she froze and is a statue with her hair looking stiff and everyone else in the background. If the exposure would be a bit longer it would give a sense of movement and warmth.

  5. I love the softness of the colors in this image and how the smoke dissipates into the background. I cannot quite define where the spots of light at the bottom of the image are coming from. Maybe a longer exposer could help create some really cool light trails and add another layer to the image. Overall you did a great job!

  6. The use of color is the highlight of this image. I would bring the cool tones out even more by providing additional warm lights in the background. You have probably scene films/images where this bokeh technique is utilized for dramatic and visual effect. It would work great with this foreground portrait.

There are a few good examples here if your not familiar with the term bokeh

  7. It's interesting that you chose "traditional" portraiture as your subject. The cooler tones throughout the image are consistent, which creates such a mysterious feeling. The figures in the background also create an anxious feeling. Maybe the light to the right of the model's head could be minimized to only be visible behind her head instead of on her hair. This would just create a crisper focus on the model.
