Basma's scale exaggeration

  1. This is a great idea. I love how you played with not only scale, but also personification of the fast food meal. The shadow of the burger is done well. Great use of scale in the concept.

  2. Love the story behind this piece. There is some weird warping happening on the hamburger that comes from the desire to warp the box. You can fix this by having the hamburger and box be two separate layers so you wont have to worry about the distortion on the burger. The french fry teeth would also have more extreme shadows on them that match the harsh shadows coming from the running figure. Finally, the shadow on the box isnt affected by the shape of the ground like the shadow from the figure is. Figure out the perspective of the figures shadow and match the hamburger box to it.

  3. I agree with the above comment. The concept seems quite strong but I do find some disjointed efforts in the execution of the image. while the shadow seems to be in the right it also appears to be too sharp compared to the shadow of the runner. Also I wish the background had more of an effect on the scene. This would be a great opportunity to engage you concept in a more compelling way to draw the viewer into the scene more. I would explore something that would allow both subjects to breathe and offer space to imply potential movement throughout the scene.

  4. This is piece is amusing and believable for the most part. I'd sggest more feather on the burger box shadow and perhaps shifting the figures a little more to the right, there running towards the left so there needs to be more room on that side of the picture.

  5. This is hilarious. You did such a good job getting the lighting and shadow to match the figure and the burger. It feels like this could be some sort of surreal world where this could actually happen. It's simple, but effective. Good work.

  6. This is great! The use of color on both the figure and the box keep your eyes on them and after you examine what is happening. I would suggest to use a softer brush to go over the fries to make them more softer as well as the bottom where it touches the floor. I am not sure if the figures shadow would be on the box but you can always mess around to see what works best.

  7. This composition is so funny and the concept is also so relatable to me. I think that the way you carried out your concept is super creative. It reminds me a little bit of Pac Man so maybe you could push it to look a little like a Pac Man board? Maybe have dots in front and behind of the figures to make it look more like the game? I don't know if that's a direction you want to go but I think that may be an interesting element to include

  8. this is hilarious, I really enjoyed the fact about mcdonalds being fast food and it actually chasing a person, you matched the lighting very well with the person, great job.

  9. Love the comedy of your piece and the play in the idea of fast food and how it can consume you, also the fact that he’s running almost as though trying to burn off fast food weight is interesting also! I would retouch the selection of the Big Mac, there is some residual background there, also, adding a bit of a blur to the shadow. Good work!
