For this project, I wanted to capture a scene where it shows an old-looking town that is in line for demolition. I wanted to try and portray it as getting old filed with vines and growing rivers, while on the other side it's growing another community where they are improving in life instead of sticking with the old. I wanted to try to incorporate forests and things that would make it look like a forest almost.

  1. 1) Described the work
It seems to be a town that is being overthrown with time, nature, and change. With a river growing through the middle of it while simultaneously being demolished and renovated on both sides two. A city that is in need of change and evolution.

    2) Interpret the work
It feels like a town that is going through a rough time. In need of help and change to deal with nature growing through it. The crane could be a helping hand in this work, trying to be the start of something new.

    3) Evaluate the work
Without the explanation, I would have some trouble figuring out what this piece is. My first guess would that its a town with all sorts of weird and uncommon attributes. I would say its a nature centered modern city. I would aim to emphasize more the parts that tell the story of the image, focusing more on the river and the crane. It needs some help telling the viewer what is happening to this city.

    4) Theorize - How does the work exist within our larger culture? What is the relevance?
Our current culture is mainly urban and suburban societies across the U.S. Most states have one or more major cities that demolished nearly any life of nature. There are some cities with a river in the middle, or a few parks, but those are man made and are designed to not obstruct the environment around it. There are no signs of roots, vines, dirt, mud, etc. in these man made nature areas. In suburban landscapes, it's usually large parts of town homes and buildings, with nature around the outside of it, rather than being part of it.

Summary: I think this work has a great concept to it, and has a decent visual to start with. There are some details that help the viewer visualize what the message is behind this. However, without any explanation it would be hard to depict what the artist is trying to acknowledge. Some of the concepts in the collage could be edited to enhance the story of the work. Overall though it is a fairly good work and concept.
