Architectural Blend

For this project I wanted to take various architectural structures and blend them into a mobile home. Mobile homes represent the lowest class in our culture and have always carried a stigma with them. I wanted to create an image that might provide a window into the perspective of the inhabitants. This particular mobile home lot is inhabited by immigrants who have come to the United States to experience a better life. To them, these living spaces are treasured and not at all the "last resort" in comparison to where they have come from. I think that every perspective has been influenced by culture and through this project I attempted to provide a space that may change the persepctive and bring it to a more neutral zone so that the audience that truly see the structure instead of the stigma.

  1. I think that for this project you nailed every aspect of it. There was a very compelling concept behind your project and you developed it extremely well through the different structures you added. It's very subtle things such as giving the roof a point and blending the two by four to look like the column that really brings out your concept. The image makes me think about what these people have and how it is there own little utopia.

  2. I love how natural this looks. There's so much detail and little things behind this picture that just all comes together to make an amazing finish. I love the columns of the porch especially. How you combined so many aspects of the royal columns but also have a plank beside it. It kind of makes you think how these houses look so little to us, but they build it up (as if with that royal structure) and make it theirs, and "home". Great piece.
