I chose to combine a power plant and an old abandoned house. Our world has become so consumed with energy and being content in our homes at all times, but in doing this we are harming the environment and in some ways making the world more dangerous. I wanted to make fun of people in a sense that it would be a horrible idea to have a power plant connected to a house, but as long as they have the energy they need then that's all that matters to them, because that's what this world is turning into (based on selfish desires).
I feel that this piece could use a slight more work to make it believable. Some perspective adjustments could be made to make the building look more whole and not discombobulated. Also, the power plant idea next to your home is really great, but I think there could be another wary to implement that. Maybe have these towers coming out of the top of the home, and applying some brick texture to tie the two structures together. And maybe even have some smoke or other evidence of energy leading to the towers. possibly even a network of power lines.
ReplyDeleteThe concept of having such a dangerous thing such as a nuclear plant near a home is a good one. It might be just because of the copied building on the right but I want to see another plant on the other side of the home as if it’s some big engine. The black and white works with the bleakness you wanted to show but it would be interesting if you spread the rubble on the left more in the composition, some in the back and some scattered. Straightening the plant along with maybe another shot of the home, personally I like the odd shape the mirroring made but if you changed each side up it wouldn’t be so obvious, would help strengthen the image.
