This composition consist of a globe, a boy figure, and clouds. They way you’ve added the texture and overtone makes it look like an older photo or a photo someone would carry around in their wallet. The composition is centered and bottom heavy due to the darker shadow on the globe. The contrast between the blue sky and gold globe give the composition a calming feeling. I think the boy in the picture is dreaming of traveling somewhere on the globe he is sitting on. His facial expressions help convey this idea of day dreaming along with the wispy cloud background. I think because you’ve made the globe floating it contributes to this dreamy feeling. I think the photoshop work is believable and well executed. I think the shadow you made for the boy works well and the shadows could also have been done under the clouds that are overlapping the globe. I am curious to see what it would look like if the paper texture went over the figure and globe. I think this is a great way to describe how everyone is feeling in the current global pandemic. We are all sitting inside planning what we are gonna do and where we are gonna go once all of this is over. I think this composition is very revenant to today because I definitely feel like this kid, dreaming about when I can go outside and travel again.
I can see a person sitting on a globe floating in the clouds. The lighting is very light and airy. The angle of the lighting is also the same coming from above. You can see the highlight on the top of the globe and the top of his face. The textures are smooth from the globe and soft from the clouds. The tone is very warm toned (which makes you feel good and cozy inside). The colors orange and blue are also complementary colors which work very well together. The person sitting on top is sitting in a very relaxed position with his head looking up into the sky. The person sitting on top is scaled smaller than the globe. The meaning of the work to me is that he is sitting on top of the world idiom. As he sits on top of the globe he looks relaxed as if he is meditating and is happy and calm. The warm tones of the orange and the light blue also gives off that warm and happy feeling, as they also complement each other. The light and airy feel also gives it that warm vibe as if you could feel the sun's heat. Bright places also give a sense of an uplifting feel. This uplifting feel also helps with the idea that he is floating on the world in the clouds happy and content. I think the thought process behind this work was done very well. I liked the idea of having him float in the sky as the earth also floats in space. The idea almost relates to your last project having his head in the clouds as a metaphor, keeping the clouds theme for this and also portraying a new phrase and idiom works super well. Your work is very conceptual and I like the trend of using those popular phrases and giving it imagery. The photoshop work to me feels true and convincing. Also creating the clouds to come in front of the globe and behind it gives it a sense of foreground and background area, creating depth. I think the work is successful.
