Scale exaggerated

  1. I see a coffee or tea cup sitting on a table or some sort of furniture. There is a tea bag leaning up on the cup to the left and a big oversized tea bag hanging from the right over top top of the cup. The photo looks placed in the rule of thirds, not in center but more shifted over to the right. The lighting is evenly light. It looks like it is coming from straight on as there is a reflection in the middle of the mug. The colors seem very neutral and calming. The mug also helps bring in different textures and color.
The work feels warm and calm as a person would want to feel right after they wake up. The lighting lets the image feel as if it is cozy and someone is grabbing their tea on a cold cloudy day. The oversized tea bag could portray that they need a lot of tea to wake up or how important tea is for them in the morning.
The photoshop work is convincing as you have the mug in focus and the large tea back out of focus. It looks as if it is focusing clearly on the mug. Possibly putting something else in the frame could tell more of a story or be more conceptual.
I think it is very clean and neat. Although possibly putting more objects or a subject in the frame and scaling them down could have brought it all together. I think for more of a cultural issue it could represent that so many people rely on tea or coffee in the morning to wake them up.
