  1. In the final product, what I am seeing is three subjects. The first subject looks like they are lassoing the moon out of the sky, the second subject is painting another moon with and the last subject is sweeping moons. They are all under a starry night in a field. The color is mostly warm because of the glow the moons are giving off and the sky is a blue cool color.
Interpreting this work, what I believe is happening in this photo is that they are changing the phases of the moon along with the color the moon gives off during certain times of the day. I do believe the artist did make the drawing easy to interpret with the different glows of the moons, the shadow on the moon, and the paint bucket beside the person.
I believe the Photoshop on this project is great. The use of the rope tying around the moon in the sky, the glow and illumination around the moon and glow on the person painting the moon on the ground. I do believe that the meaning of the final product could be confusing, but if you look at the all elements in the photo then I do think you can be able to interpret the meaning.
I do believe the work is successful with its meaning about the changing of the phases of the moon. How this can relate to a larger culture is how people and time change. The moon is still the moon even though it can look different most nights and it usually takes the moon a month to complete one cycle of phases. I believe the same thing can be applied to people even though people change every day with time we are all still the same.

  2. This work depicts a starry night sky backdrop in what looks like a grass field. There are three individuals pictured in white jumpsuits. One is lassoing the moon in the sky with a rope, another is painting another moon with black paint, and the third is shown “sweeping” up a gathering of four other moons.
Looking at this work, I would interpret it to be about the different phases of the moon and showing the changes it goes through in a unique way, as if humans are behind it. You have the guy in the back acting as if he is pulling the moon down in order to switch it out with another moon. I would interpret the guy on the left as gathering up the ones that have already been used, or even the ones that will be used, and the girl on the left is physically painting each one a different phase.
On a creative level, this work does an incredible job at exploring the subject in the most creative way. I would have never thought to do something like this, and the execution of it was great as well. The Photoshop work was done with precision and you can tell because even though this scene is unrealistic, it looks as if it could be a real scene taking place.
This piece in its entirety is very successful. On a larger cultural aspect, it comments on something that happens all of the time, but most people do not really pay attention to. It creates a dynamic and beautiful composition that is so fun and interesting to look at.
