  1. I see modern mixed with cultural or historical columns. A round circular building that wraps the entire photos. A stairwell leading up and off to the left side and three columns placed at the top of the buildings with yellow banners hanging from the top. Both parts of the building are brick. The sky gives it more of a dramatic effect.

Possibly the idea of this would could be related to modernism and cultural architecture. With the more modern looking building at the bottom in a circular shape. The brick color is cleaner and newer, and the even row of windows wrap around. Whereas the top three columns look more historical or cultural compared to the building. Especially by adding the yellow banners. The brick is more worn with an arch style which is usually more of a historical style.

To evaluate the work, I think mixing two styles together was a really good choice. Although, possibly allowing both bricks to match would blend the buildings really well together. I also think if something was added to the banners like some sort of typography it would have explained the use of the banners a little more. Although, I did like the touch of color with the yellow. The banners also gave it another touch of historical significance.

Mixing historic with modern gives a take that modern is becoming almost the same level with historical buildings in our time period. They run in similar paths with the brick but shapes and parts of the architecture is different. For example, the modern windows mixes with the historical column architecture.

In conclusion, I think the idea of mixing these two architectures was a good idea. The banners at the end brought the historical side more together. Although possibly shooting at another angle of the building would have been beneficial for the columns since they are angled and the building is directly on. I liked the idea of the two types of brick but possibly playing with levels to darken the building at the bottom to match the columns could have been done too. The sky added in makes the photo look a lot more dramatic and gives it character rather than the blue sky.
