Retouch Project

Inspiration was The Scream by Edvard Munch. Below will be the start photo and the end result.

  1. You did an awesome job on this one! I think that the fact that someone in class said that it looked more like a painting than a photograph actually shows that you went the extra mile to put some effort in it. It made everyone laugh and we definitely seemed to understand your reference. It was well planned out and you obviously put quite a bit of effort in.

  2. The idea and concept behind your portrait is really great. The fact that you took the typical retouched photo a step further was really interesting and very successful. The transition from beginning to end was really drastic, but in a great way. The end result is very painterly and mimics the original "scream" painting. Your choice of inspiration and your execution of it paired to make a great final project.

  3. This is awesome, I like that fact that we can see all of your steps from the retouching of the woman to making her into this painterly "scream" portrait. It was well though out and executed. Great job.

  4. I really enjoyed this piece! Watching the GIF, it showed the steps of the traditional retouching process like cleaning up the blemishes, brightening her eyes, making her skinnier and then you drastically changed it into something I was not expecting. Very creative and entertaining! I immediately got your reference after looking at the finish piece so great job in delivering that concept!
