This semester I have focused on the idea of "southern culture" and what that idea may entail. I used several images taken on trips specifically exploring southern culture. What does it mean to be southern? What is southern architecture? There are many types of architecture throughout the south, so I chose to incorporate a few aspects into a main building that I feel represents the majority of the southern buildings in my area.
A few peers suggest that I remove my architecture from its original background and place it in other sites. Typical grocery stores popular throughout the south, atypical sites such as Times Square, and even the moon were suggestions for these sites.
ReplyDeleteA peer suggested I tweak the "New Bern door" a bit, adding that the brackets on the sides of the door can be adjusted in a better manner.
As far as my concept, peers were pleased with the outcome. They believe my concept can be taken to other places to create a series of this work. Peers say the concept is interesting and creative.
The instructor commented the Photoshop technique appears well done. The idea of Photoshopping separate pieces outlining the same theme is creative.
